This major work is an a cappella setting of the St. John Passion especially This is a setting of the ordinary of the mass (minus credo) for SATB choir and 5 instruments from the Javanese gamelan originally composed for and performed by the choir at Old St. Joseph’s Church in Philadelphia with New York based Gamelan Son of Lion. The pitches are mostly derived from the Gregorian chant Veni Sancte Spiritus in keeping with the original performance on the feast of Pentecost.
